Tiggerific Tuesday: Test Track

Tiggerific+Tuesday+Trivia Tiggerific Tuesday #DisneyTrivia: The Seven Dwarfs

Oh, how I love alliteration in a title!  This week's bit of trivia is about the very popular thrill ride, Test Track.  Most of us remember the part of the ride (both pre- and post-refurb) where the vehicle almost collides with a Big Rig.  Do you know who drives that truck?  A cardboard cutout of President Lyndon B. Johnson - wearing a Hawaiian lei. When I learned this bit of trivia (sadly, I cannot remember whether I learned it from a CM or a Disney book that has been loaned out and ne'er returned).  I have yet to hear if the Pres still sits behind the wheel post-refurb, but knowing the Imagineers, he's likely still there!

Wordless Wednesday: Disney Weenies

OK, this Wordless Wednesday may need a bit of introduction for those not linking from Focused on the Magic.  Disney Weenies are the focal points, the iconic structures, that draw park visitors in for a look.  My Disney Weenie today comes from Frontierland:

Thanks for stopping by!

Tiggerific Tuesday: Liberty Square

Tiggerific+Tuesday+Trivia Tiggerific Tuesday #DisneyTrivia: Walt Disney World Railroad

Do you know why there is a brown ribbon of pavement running through Liberty Square?  It goes back to the late 1700s (the time in which Liberty Square is set), and at that time it was common practice for people to empty their chamber pots out of the windows and into the street.  When it rained, it created an open sewer in the middle of the streets.  Definitely gross, but you've gotta love the authenticity!

As always, a big thanks goes out to Jodi from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse, Heidi from Heidi's Head, +Magical Mouse Schoolhouse+Heidi's Head+My Dreams of Disney, and +Disney Babies Blog for hosting today!

Disney Snacks

So, my blog has been pretty quiet for a while due to an extremely hectic couple of weeks.  Now, back to the fun stuff!  And what is more fun than a snack?  (Written as I joyfully munch on a Mickey Mouse shaped "Foodle" filled with apples, grapes, and cheese cubes)

I think we can all agree that snacks at Disney are the most fun of all.  Here are some of my favorites:

Soft Pretzels

Mickey Mouse Pretzels are deliciously satisfying, and they are cute to boot!  What's not to love?

Citrus Swirl

Found at the Sunshine Tree Terrace, the Citrus Swirl is a yummy, refreshing treat.  The orange colored part of the swirl is of a slushy consistency, and it resembles frozen Orange Juice.  Added to creamy vanilla soft serve, it's a sweet and tangy combo that really helps to cool you off.

Orange Slush

A newer item on the menu of Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland is the Orange Slush.  It's consistency is similar to the orange part of the citrus swirl, but it's a little sweeter.  Refreshingly delicious!

Two Words: Dole Whip

Disclaimer: this is not a Dole Whip from the park.  You see, we are typically so excited to eat this delightful treat that we completely forget to snap a pic.  This is a picture of swirled version at the Polynesian.  It doesn't look like much in the picture, but if you like pineapple, this treat's for you!  Pineapple swirled with vanilla.  YUM!  If you stop by Aloha Isle in Adventureland, I recommend getting it as a float with the pineapple juice.

Waffle Sandwich

Specifically, this is a waffle sandwich with fresh fruit and Nutella.  It is available at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Liberty Square.  Yes, it is every bit as delicious as it sounds.  And it has fruit, so it's healthy... right? Unfortunately, this is not available as a snack credit, but you won't be sorry you spent the money!!

Honorable Mentions

There are many more delicious treats I could write about - churros, Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars, Cupcakes - but these are some treats that are decidedly Disney in nature.  When you are a little hungry between meals, try one of these and see what you think!

Tiggerific Tuesday: Pet Cemetery

Tiggerific+Tuesday+Trivia Tiggerific Tuesday #DisneyTrivia: LEGO Sea Serpent

Did you know?  The pet cemetery in the yard of the Haunted Mansion hosts a tribute to one of WDW's former attractions.  If you look up in the left hand corner of the Pet Cemetery, you will see a statue that looks suspiciously like Mr. Toad, star of the former attraction "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride".  And in fact, it is!

Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia: Pirates of the Caribbean

Tiggerific+Tuesday+Trivia Tiggerific Tuesday #DisneyTrivia: Fantasmic Dragon

If you've ever walked through the right hand side of the Pirates of the Caribbean Queue (the side that is now for Fastpass+), you may have noticed a cell on the right hand side in which two skeletons are playing a game of chess.  Those skeletons are, in fact, locked in an epic, no-win match.  Imagineer Marc Davis was a huge chess fan, and he set this chessboard up to duplicate a board from a masters tournament that provided a no-win outcome.  The pirates playing the game, it seems, simply withered away figuring out their next move.

This bit of trivia can be found in Susan Veness's book, "The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World".
