Do you know why there is a brown ribbon of pavement running through Liberty Square? It goes back to the late 1700s (the time in which Liberty Square is set), and at that time it was common practice for people to empty their chamber pots out of the windows and into the street. When it rained, it created an open sewer in the middle of the streets. Definitely gross, but you've gotta love the authenticity!
As always, a big thanks goes out to Jodi from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse, Heidi from Heidi's Head, +Magical Mouse Schoolhouse, +Heidi's Head, +My Dreams of Disney, and +Disney Babies Blog for hosting today!
Ew!!! Thankful now that in Liberty Square there is indoor plumbing.
ReplyDeleteAnd still no bathrooms in Liberty Square, gotta love the authenticity. You won't find me walking on any brown pavement anymore.
ReplyDeleteI know! When I found out that the Liberty Tree's bathrooms are geographically located in Fantasyland, I was super-impressed!
DeleteI just read this recently and found it very interesting. LOVE the Disney authenticity and how there is a hidden reason for everything you see.
ReplyDeleteThose Imagineers never cease to amaze me!
